Staying in the loop
Notifications and Inbox in TaskRely
Everything that's waiting for your attention across every project shows up in one place, and it shows up the moment it happens - no refreshing the page to see it.
The bell
The bell icon at the top of the app carries a red count of what's unread - it caps out at "9+" rather than running long. Click it and you'll see your five most recent notifications right there. Opening it also marks everything as read, not just the ones you happen to scroll past, so the count clears the moment you check it. A View all link at the bottom takes you to the full history.
The Inbox
The Inbox page keeps your last 100 notifications, not just the five in the preview. Two tabs - All and Unread - let you filter the list, and a Mark all as read button sits at the top whenever there's something unread to clear.
What shows up here
A lot funnels into this one list, grouped roughly into:
- Task activity - someone comments on a task, @mentions you, assigns you to something, or moves a task to Done.
- Invites - to a project, or to your organization.
- Membership changes - your role changing, being added to or removed from a project or department, getting a manager assigned, or gaining a direct report.
- Performance & reviews - a review left for you, a new review cycle opening or being published, or a dispute being opened or resolved.
- Leave - a request coming in, or your own request being approved or denied.
Where clicking one takes you
Every notification is a link, and it goes straight to the thing it's actually about - the task itself if it's task activity, the project if you've just been added to it, the review or leave page for those, or the invite-acceptance screen if it's a project invite waiting on you. You're never left guessing where to go next.
Desktop & mobile alerts
On the Growth and Business plans, TaskRely can also pop an alert up on your screen through your browser, the same way chat and email apps do. It works even when TaskRely isn't the tab you're looking at, or isn't open at all, as long as your browser is running. If you're already looking at TaskRely, the bell shows it instead, so you don't get the same thing twice.
Turn it on from the Desktop & mobile alerts card at the top of the Inbox, then pick which kinds of notification send an alert. Task assignments, mentions, invites, leave and reviews are on by default. Comments and role or team changes are off, so the alerts that matter aren't buried. Your choices apply on every device, but you turn alerts on separately in each browser you use. Clicking an alert takes you straight to the task or page it's about.
On iPhone and iPad, open TaskRely in Safari, tap Share, then Add to Home Screen, and open it from the Home Screen to turn alerts on. Apple only lets installed web apps send alerts. If alerts don't show up on a computer, check that your browser is allowed to show notifications in your system settings and that Focus or Do Not Disturb is off.
